LION PARK SOUTH AFRICA
I really dont know where to start. I have 2000 pics from the lion park and all of them are worth showing. Im just gonna pick a few I guess and try to tell the story from there.
The cutest pic ever on one of the three adorable lion cubs (1 month old). Also the pic that made me and Carly cry of overloaded emotions when listening to love songs in the car on our way to the safari.
Helga and one of the really young (5days old) white lion cubs.
Me bottle feeding Duke
Guess this pic doesnt really need any words.... We took the cubs down to the tented area where we stayed to try to teach them how to run in directions. This one did certainly not want to run.
Lion kiss
Lion attack. Desperately screamed for help when the three cubs attacked but Carly decided to take pictures instead of saving me. Haha. Good though. Everything for a nice pic hey!
Me and one of the 4.5 months old white lion cubs down at "touch a cub". The white lions have a recessive gene (same as blond people) and that is why they come out white. They would not survive in the wild because they cannot camouflage and can therefore not hunt.
From small to big cats. These ones are abt a year (sadly to see how quick they are growing isnt it??) haha. A bit scared. Touching from behind.
Earl, the manager on lion park took all the volunteers out for dinner at the Mandela square in Jo'burg on a friday night.
My adorable little blaisebook Blaze. She is abt 5 months old and is kept in n enclousure since she got attacked by a zebra and got really hurt. She doesnt grow very well and is really small for her age. She also got traumatized and refuses to drink water and that is why she has to be bottle fed. (For the record, she makes the most adorable noises when she is drinking and her tail is wagging from side to side). Maybe, if I can figure how to put the videos on youtube, I can show you.
Timooons!
Carly (from melbourne) and me together with Masai, one of the cheetahs.
Me and a crazy (but extremely beautiful) black lepard at the lion kingdom. They are very rare...
Pedy, a crazy giraffe at the park.
...who escaped ALL THE TIME so we had to chase her a lot. Although, most of the time we couldnt be bothered since she just steped over the fence once again.
Mee feeding Gambet, the other giraffe.
Duties. Cleaning out the white lions enclousure every morning was a quite fun task.... In the beginning. But its difficult to get anything done when all the cubs just want to play with the broom.
Me, Carly and (Tez) and the cub world gate. (Im just gonna darken the fact that we had to rip tickets of tourists abt 2 hrs a day each).
Me shitting myself when posing behind the crazy tiger cub who lived at the lion park for a few weeks since its owner couldnt take care of it. This tiger is PURE WILD.

The white lion (also from the movie white lion) is getting some food.
Alex, the guy responisble for the lions at the park is darting a run away hyena who chewed herself out of her steel enclousure one night. We had been chasing her for quite a while when we finally could hit her with the dart (not that she fell asleep anyway before getting a real high dose from the vet who had to come and assist us)
Me and Carly together with Mad Mike and Mark (youtube it, these guys are proper cool, they have their own program on the discovery chanel and had to come help chasing these hyenas). FAME!
Loads and loads of TV teams were filming the whole thing so me and Carly were on the front page of every south african newspaper the next morning, carrying the darted hyena into the car to bring her back to lion park.
At least. This is a start. I have loads and loads of pics and it would crash my computer to try to upload them all. There is another bunch on facebook for those who have. I still havent even started to go through the once I took from the safari. So expect another update soon!
